Gatsby Fever

I think the whole city is looking forward to Baz Luhrmanns take on the Great Gatsby due to be released early in the New Year. Certainly the amount of Christmas Parties this year taking their inspiration from the period of jazz and glamour is phenomenal. Two Gatsby themed parties that we recently attended were the Christmas Drinks at Becker Minty and the Contempo Members Art Gallery NSW Christmas Party.

Becker Minty was stuffed full of Art Deco goodies for the event. 

The Art Gallery party is an annual pilgrimage for the four of us and we were all excited about the theme this year. We wished the organisers did more with the theme though as the decorations and party wow factor was down from previous years. We did enjoy a little fun flutter on the blackjack tables and we scored some Napoleon Perdis mascara and Lindt chocolate winnings. Most of all we had fun dressing up for the occasion and I loved the twenties finger waves hairstyle that my hairdresser, Richard Zalm, put together for me. Very twenties chic!
