Sakura Hunting in Japan
Just back from our Sakura Tour of Japan so there will be lots of blog posts to come as I sort through photos and memories of a fabulous trip. I'll be posting things in random order but I thought I'd start off with a nice close up of some cherry blossoms and some of my paintings that I sketched along the way.
Below is a sketch of one of the weeping cherries we spotted in Kyoto. I think the weeping cherries are definitely the most beautiful and spectacular of the sakura varieties and tend to be a bit rarer to spot also which adds to their beauty.
